FreeCourse Description: STEP UP Texas is a project that brings trauma-informed and restorative practices training and implementation support to school districts, law enforcement, and the judicial system toward reducing racial and ethnic disparities in engagement with the juvenile justice system. Unaddressed traumatic experiences are associated with long-term behavioral and physical health issues. In this course we learn the damaging effects of trauma on the brain and body, how to be resilient in the face of trauma, and how to extend that resiliency to our fellow officers and the communities we serve.
