K-9 CASUALTY CARE COURSE

In 2020 Life Flight became the first air civilian aeromedical service to provide training, treatment and transportation for injured K9 officers.  This course has been extended to two days and will provide K9 handlers with emergency care training for their K9’s including wound packing, poison control, CPR and tourniquet use through lecture and hands-on scenarios.  Handlers will also be trained on when it is appropriate and how to call an aeromedical service for severely injured K9’s.  At the conclusion of the course each attendee will receive a K9 Specific Individualized First Aid Kit (IFAK).
